Westside Gunn, the head of Griselda, took to Twitter to commemorate the anniversary of his album and revealed exciting news about its follow-up. Titled ‘& Then U Pray For Me,' the highly anticipated album is set to drop on June 23. In his tweet, Gunn also paid tribute to his late friend Virgil Abloh, who created the stunning cover art for the ‘Pray For Paris album using Caravaggio's iconic painting, ‘David with the Head of Goliath.'
Gunn expressed his gratitude and excitement on his Twitter account, stating, “HAPPY BDAY to a MASTERPIECE, this album changed my life forever!!!! I wanna thank the Late Great my brother @virgilabloh for everything he has done for me & continue to do for me.” He added, “‘& THEN U PRAY FOR ME' drops 6/23, and YES, this is PRAY FOR PARIS 2 releasing Fri during FASHION WEEK.”
‘Pray For Paris' was released in April 2020 and showcased the exceptional production work of Daringer, Beat Butcha, the Alchemist, DJ Muggs, and DJ Premier. The album featured guest appearances from talented artists such as Benny the Butcher, Conway the Machine, Joey Badass, Tyler, the Creator, Boldy James, Freddie Gibbs, Roc Marciano, Wale, Joyce Wrice, Billie Essco, Keisha Plum, and Cartier Williams.
