English pop rock band formed in 2002 in Wilmslow, Cheshire, The 1975’s new song “Part of the Band” was played for the first time on BBC Radio 1’s Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
“Good night, everyone, especially fans of The 1975,” said Clara Amfo, who hosts Radio 1’s evening show. “Because I know you’ve been looking forward to this… There’s a lot of excitement because they’ve been gone for a while and now the new era is here. Being Funny in a Foreign Language, their brand-new album, comes out in October. And here is the most recent sample of it: “Part of the Band.”
The new song has low-toned, striking strings, metal soundscapes in the background, and melodic violins. This is different from their previous album, Notes On A Conditional Form, which had an ambient dance sound. Produced by band members George Daniels and Matt Healy and musical genius Jack Antonoff, the song’s instrumental parts include traditional string music from a pop music band.
