Doechii released a new single called ‘Pacer', which she previewed at Coachella in April.
Doechii's visuals have consistently been known to move the needle, and her latest release, “Pacer,” is no exception. The Top Dawg Entertainment signee previewed the song during her Coachella performance earlier this year.
The song comes on the heels of gaining 600 million-plus global streams for the hit single ‘What It Is (Block Boy)' this spring. ‘Pacer' also gets a music video that matches its sci-fi and Punk-inspired energy. Nikko Lamere directs it — watch it below.
The self-proclaimed Swamp Princess hits that road with Doja Cat on her Scarlet Tour dates, beginning October 31 in San Francisco and running through November 24 in Doechii's hometown of Tampa.
The Nikko Lamere-directed clip opens up with a scene of the “What's Your Name?” rapper being dragged into an evil underground laboratory, where she is poked and prodded with wires, needles, and more. Eventually, the adrenaline rush breaks her free from captivity, and she takes over the entire operation.
Jayla Ji'mya Hickmon, known professionally as Doechii, is an American rapper and singer. After releasing her debut EP, Oh the Places You'll Go, she rose to prominence with the viral success of her song “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake” on TikTok in 2021.
